We acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation, the traditional owners of the land on which Claude St is located. We honour and pay our respects to elders, past and present.
✂︎ Join Sally of Deep Earth Ceramics in creating your very own stoneware breakfast set. Sally will guide you using hand building techniques and dark stoneware clay to make a breakfast bowl, plate and mug. On the day of the workshop, there will be three styles of mugs available, this way you can choose which style suits you best. We love the idea of eating warm oats and sipping coffee from something handmade, and not only handmade, made by your own hands!
With no experience needed, Sally will teach you as you go, that is the beauty of these handmade items! This workshop is perfect to learn on the fly and take a dive into the world of pottery, if you’re not already there. Leave the workshop knowing you have a unique breakfast set on its way to add to your home or gift to someone special.
THINGS TO KNOW
✂︎ Your ceramics will be fired and glazed separately at Sally’s Fremantle studio.
✂︎ Clay can be unpredictable and items can sometimes break or become damaged in the kiln when firing. However, please know Sally & the Claude St staff will take the upmost care when handling your items.
✂︎ Your finished items will be available for pick-up within 4 weeks of your workshop date.
From her small garden studio in Fremantle, Western Australia, Sally creates unique pieces with emotional authenticity, preferring essential beauty over conventional perfection. Her work is all hand thrown, and she will occasionally use hand building techniques to add a little bit of magic.
You’ll likely see the influence of living near the ocean in many of Sally’s pieces. Stunning blue waters, stretches of unspoiled beach, the sometimes moody skies that meet and melt into the ocean at the horizon — all these elements are at play in her designs.
Sally’s work is made with love from durable stoneware, and intended for everyday use. She hopes you’ll find the perfect piece to cherish or gift, one that will find a place in your home for years to come.
