✂︎ Join Sally of Deep Earth Ceramics in creating your own stoneware lighthouse. Sally will guide you using hand building techniques and dark stoneware clay to make this little lighthouse your own.
The lighthouse is designed to hold a tea light candle or small LED candle light. We like to watch the light flicker through the holes creating a warm, homely feeling. With no previous experience required, this workshop is perfect to learn on the fly and take your first dive into the world of pottery.
THINGS TO KNOW
✂︎ Your finished lighthouse will be approximately 18cm high and 8cm wide.
✂︎ Your lighthouse will be fired and glazed separately at Sally’s Fremantle studio.
✂︎ Clay can be unpredictable and items can sometimes break or become damaged in the kiln when firing. However, please know Sally & the Claude St staff will take the upmost care when handling your items.
✂︎ Your finished items will be available for pick-up within 4 weeks of your workshop date.
From her small garden studio in Fremantle, Western Australia, Sally creates unique pieces with emotional authenticity, preferring essential beauty over conventional perfection. Her work is all hand thrown, and she will occasionally use hand building techniques to add a little bit of magic.
You’ll likely see the influence of living near the ocean in many of Sally’s pieces. Stunning blue waters, stretches of unspoiled beach, the sometimes moody skies that meet and melt into the ocean at the horizon — all these elements are at play in her designs.
Sally’s work is made with love from durable stoneware, and intended for everyday use. She hopes you’ll find the perfect piece to cherish or gift, one that will find a place in your home for years to come.
