✂︎ We’ve got the perfect activity for the kids these school holidays, head on over to Claude St and join Renee of (W)renscape Creations! Renee will help the kids to explore and celebrate the amazing forms of WA’s beautiful plants by using leaves and nuts to create their own unique native wall hangings.
Renee will support the kids through creating five embossed clay ornaments. They will have the best time using shape cutters, imprinting different patterns and painting their decorations, not to mention the hot choccies!
* Kids must be 8 years old and above, carers are welcome to stay for the duration of the workshop but not required.
Renee was born in Albany and raised at Chillicup, near Broomehill, in the Great Southern. She grew up surrounded by the wonders of the Western Australian bush, though it was time away studying in Sweden that made her realise just how unique our Australian flora and fauna really were.
After studying Interior Architecture, she was active in the design industry until taking a position teaching Architecture and Interior Architecture at Curtin University, which continues today. This background gave Renee strong drawing and graphics skills, and an understanding of conceptual design, all of which inform her current (W)renscape printmaking practice.
Renee is a passionate creative educator, running creative workshops and community arts facilitation. She also works in the realms of graphics, illustration, interior and landscape design, while continuing to research and teach at Curtin. Her botanical homewares are sold by stockists across the state while she continues to exhibit her printwork regularly.
